Emma Willis is to front brand-new documentary series, Emma Willis: Delivering Babies for W, UKTV’s premium entertainment channel.

The UKTV Original, made by Firecracker Films, follows Emma as she trains for three months on a busy maternity ward as a Maternity Care Assistant. She’ll be working four shifts a week: day and night; alongside the nursing staff, where she’ll discover first-hand what makes it one of the toughest, but most rewarding careers you can have.

A key member of the midwifery team, alongside the other new recruits, Emma will be there for every intimate moment. As a trainee MCA, she’ll be responsible for admitting prospective parents into the ward, taking blood pressure and assisting in theatre and the birthing suits.

Nursing holds a special place in Emma’s heart, as her mum used to work in a hospital for almost 40 years, making this a truly personal experience for her. Gaining a first-hand experience of what midwives working in the NHS currently face, Emma will see how different her life might have been had she followed in her Mum’s footsteps.
