1980s family classic ‘Hansel and Gretel’ starring David Warner & Cloris Leachman releasing on Limited Edition Mediabook from Monday

Capelight Pictures and Altitude are excited to announce that Hansel and Gretel will be released on a special limited edition 2-disc mediabook from 22 April. The film will also be released on DVD and Blu-ray.

Based on the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, this enchanting adaptation of the opera “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck is presented in a digitally restored version.

Produced by the legendary Cannon Group, the classic 1987 film stars David Warner (Titanic, Planet of the Apes) and Oscar® winner Cloris Leachman (The Last Picture Show, Young Frankenstein) as the Evil Witch.

Children of an impoverished woodcutter Hansel and Gretel get lost in the forest after birds have eaten the trail of breadcrumbs that was supposed to show them the way back home. They arrive at a strange house made entirely of gingerbread. The resident turns out to be a malicious witch who is extremely excited to fatten Hansel up so she can then put him on her menu…
