BBC to broadcast first ever European Championships across TV, radio and online
- First ever European Championships 2018 brings together existing European Championships for six individual sports into one thrilling multi-sport, eleven-day event
- The sporting elite of Europe will partake in the European Championships for athletics, swimming, cycling, rowing, triathlon and gymnastics
- For the first time, there will be a European Golf Team Championships, held at PGA Centenary Course, Gleneagles
- Hazel Irvine, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan lead the TV coverage across BBC One and BBC Two live from 8.30am daily
- Stellar commentary line-up includes Sir Chris Hoy, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Rebecca Adlington, James Cracknell OBE and Beth Tweddle
- BBC Radio 5 live will bring live daily coverage led by Sonja McLaughlan with additional coverage on 5 live sports extra
- Live HD stream will be available on BBC Sport online, BBC iPlayer and by pressing Red on Connected TV
The European Championships brings together existing individual European Championships for each sport into one co-ordinated multi-sport, eleven-day event which will see the sporting elite of Europe partake in athletics, swimming, cycling, rowing, triathlon, gymnastics plus a brand new European Golf Team Championships which will see mixed teams for the first time.
Hazel Irvine, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan lead the TV coverage across BBC One and BBC Two, with both channels showing up to twelve hours of coverage a day combined, allowing audiences to truly immerse themselves in the sporting spirit.
Steve Cram, Andrew Cotter, Steve Backley, Colin Jackson, Jeanette Kwakye and Paula Radcliffe will be live in Berlin to provide expert commentary for the European Athletics Championships, while back in Glasgow, Michael Johnson, Denise Lewis, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill,Toni Minichiello and Mark Butler will also provide their analysis.
Beth Tweddle, Christine Still, Craig Heap and Matt Baker will be on hand to offer expert analysis during the gymnastics events which will see eight action-packed days and 600 gymnasts take part, including five-time Olympic medallist Max Whitlock.
