The film has proven a hit with audiences, enjoying the highest per-screen average of any Japanese film released this year, and a full 5-star rating from COMSCORE’s PostTrak exit poll, with a 92% positive score. GODZILLA MINUS ONE has also received critical acclaim, with Total Film’s Neil Smith calling it “A gargantuan and resonant epic”, and Starburst Magazine regarding the film as “a thunderous, profound, and exciting cinema experience that is absolutely not to be missed!”.
