In cinemas 9 May: THE UNINVITED starring Walton Goggins (The White Lotus), Pedro Pascal, Elizabeth Reaser, Lois Smith & Eva De Dominici

Today Foton.Pictures and Rosebud Pictures are delighted to announce that their feature THE UNINVITED featuring Walton Goggins, Pedro Pascal, Elizabeth Reaser and Rufus Sewell, will be released in UK cinemas from 9th May 2025.

Directed by Nadia Conners (The 11th Hour, Tyrant) and produced by Rosie Fellner, Carlos Cuscó and Ari Taboada, THE UNINVITED stars Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight, The Handmaid’s Tale), Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, Justified), Pedro Pascal (Gladiator II, The Last of Us, Narcos, Game of Thrones), Lois Smith (Lady Bird, Minority Report, Marjorie Prime, Five Easy Pieces), Eva De Dominici (The Cleaning Lady) and Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat, Scoop).

THE UNINVITED is a story about the passing of time, love, regret and aging. This comedic drama centers on Rose, a former actress now living as a stay-at-home mom, who as she prepares the house to host a party for her husband’s job an elderly woman named Helen arrives, claiming she has returned home. This unexpected encounter, along with the presence of other complicated characters from her past and present, creates a night of chaos and forces Rose to confront her insecurities and reflect on her journey as a woman. The film humorously critiques Hollywood’s beauty standards while celebrating the complexities of womanhood and explores the themes of motherhood, and self-discovery in Los Angeles.

Director Nadia Conners said: “I am eager to share this film with an audience as it has landed at aunique moment in our culture where the costs and rewards of motherhood are being explored more widely. I am encouraged by the festival audiences reaction to the story as it delves into the multiple rolls women must juggle all while losing contact with their own selfhood.

As a 54-year-old woman making her narrative directorial debut, I feel compelled to underscore that the road to this later than anticipated outing is a beautiful product of the exact struggle between worklife and homelife.

The comedy and the pathos has resonated with women and hearing the laughter and sharing in the emotion afterwards has been one of the greatest experiences of making the film. I hope that with a bigger platform the experience of the film – of feeling seen will continue to resonate.”
