ITN has appointed Jess Bulman as Deputy Editor of 5 News.
Jess will support Editor Cait FitzSimons who was appointed in February this year. She joins from ITV News where she was Head of Home Planning. Jess’ role marks her return to 5 News where she worked as news editor and planning editor in 2010.
Jess’ career spans 18 years working in TV News. For the last 3 and a half years she has overseen the planning of UK and specialist content at ITV News: Jess ran the newsgathering operation on the day of the Grenfell tower disaster, whose coverage has since been nominated for a BAFTA TV Award. She has also been responsible for the planning for two general election campaigns and the EU referendum. Prior to joining ITV News she was at ITV Daybreak and part of the senior team that brought Good Morning Britain to air. Jess spent 11 years at Sky News doing a variety of roles, progressing to Senior News Editor. It was during this period that she spent time working at 5 News.
5 News continues to play a vital role in the UK’s media landscape, offering a different take on the day’s stories and with up to 5.2m viewers tuning in every week. 5 News at 5 is fronted by Sian Williams, and 5 News Tonight, at 6.30pm, is hosted by former Sky News presenter Claudia-Liza Armah who joined ITN at the end of 2017.
