Michael Cera, Elsie Fisher and an ensemble cast in CHRISTMAS EVE IN MILLER’S POINT – In cinemas 15 November

In his follow-up to the acclaimed Ham on Rye, writer-director Tyler Taormina puts his uncanny cinematic stamp on the holiday movie, working with a stand-out ensemble including Michael Cera (Arrested Development), Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Maria Dizzia (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Francesca Scorsese, Ben Shenkman, Gregg Turkington, Sawyer Spielberg and newcomer Matilda Fleming.

Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point sees four generations of the Balsano family gather for what may be the last Christmas in their family home in small town Long Island. Boisterous aunts, uncles, cousins, and one indomitable grandmother drink themselves merry and talk to no end even as they strain to understand each other. As the group loses itself in rowdy celebration, youngsters Emily and Michelle sneak away to claim the suburban winter wonderland for teenage rebellion.

Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point premiered in Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
