Powerhouse Producer Tara Pirnia on new film, releasing on Netflix with Alyssa Milano & Cristian de la Fuente!
Hollywood powerhouse producer and Iranian-immigrant Tara Pirnia (Steve Jobs: iGenius, Cristiano Ronaldo: The World at His Feet) has just set her latest film for release on Netflix this holiday season. Shot entirely in the Rio Grande Valley, YOU ARE MY HOME (premiering on Friday, December 4th on Netflix), stars Alyssa Milano (Charmed, Insatiable), Cristian de la Fuente (Devious Maids, In Plain Sight, The Class), Angel Parker (Marvel’s Runaways, The Strain), Eva Ariel Binder (Grey’s Anatomy, The Last Ship), and newcomer Sutton Waldman, tells the gripping story of a young girl separated from her mother by ICE agents, who is taken in by a grieving foster parent just days before Christmas.
It’s a story that means a lot to Pirnia, a first-generation immigrant herself, who fled her home country and came to the United States as a refugee. The independent feature is produced by Tara Pirnia and Andrew Sugerman and based on an original script by Marion Milner and Amanda Raymond, with Raymond directing. WAG Entertainment and Hollywood Media Bridge will distribute the picture. Pirnia’s Future Sight Entertainment and Sugerman’s Pantheon Entertainment were the production companies.
Many of the film’s cast and crew have a personal attachment to the story. It became a passion project for both Milano and de la Fuente, who also serve as Executive Producers on the film. Milano has been an outspoken critic of many U.S. immigration policies, while de la Fuente has advocated for immigrant rights after coming to the United States from Chile.
