The Suicide Squad, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Courier and Jungle Cruise in 4K HDR, and many new releases on Rakuten TV in September
This September, audiences will be treated to the “It’s Showtime!” promotion on Rakuten TV. On any rental or purchase, users will earn 10% back of their transaction amount as Rakuten Points (the reward programme for Rakuten TV and other Rakuten Group services). Audiences can buy or rent titles fresh from the cinema, such as F9: The Fast Saga, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, Monster Hunter or The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, and earn hundreds of Points which can then be used as a discount on another title, or to get a blockbuster library rental as such as Get Out, Men In Black and Central Intelligence, which are on offer for 0.99€, for no extra charge.
Viewers will also be treated to a selection of brand new Premium releases fresh from the cinemas this month. The Suicide Squad, DC’s acclaimed new film, lands on Rakuten TV to delight fans with the return of the main characters adapted to the director’s style, along with new members. Cold War spy film The Courier starring Benedict Cumberbatch, heart-breaking romance Supernova starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, Michelle Pfeiffer’s comedy French Exit, and top class kids titles The Croods: A New Age (4K HDR), Spirit Untamed (4K HDR) and Jungle Cruise (4K HDR). Also newly available in September will be Nicholas Cage’s revenge thriller Pig.
Rakuten TV’s mixture of new releases, free ad-supported content and TV series guarantees viewers can find whatever they are in the mood for, with a wide selection of dramas, romantic comedies, kids films and action thrillers available at the touch of a button.
From 1st September Rakuten TV’s FREE section will feature a selection of newly added film titles including Montana (Kyra Sedgwick, Stanley Tucci), The Midnight Meat Train (Vinnie Jones, Bradley Cooper), Peacock (Cillian Murphy, Elliot Page) and more.
Joining Starzplay, in the SUBSCRIPTION section, on 12th September is the terrifying Dr. Death. Inspired by the acclaimed podcast of the same name, new real-life drama Dr Death stars Joshua Jackson (Pacey Witter in Dawson’s Creek) as Dr. Christopher Duntsch, an infamous neurosurgeon convicted of maiming a patient and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017.
