UKTV acquires three new shows from Sony Pictures Television
Britain’s biggest multichannel network, UKTV, announced it has acquired three new shows from Sony Pictures Television (SPT) for premium crime drama channel, Alibi.
The deal leads with Carter, a brand-new detective drama commissioned by SPT Networks and produced by Amaze Film + Television. Carter’s star-studded cast is headed up by Jerry O’Connell (Billions) who plays Harley Carter, a detective on a hit American TV show until he is forced to return to his sleepy hometown after an embarrassing public meltdown in Hollywood. Now that he is back, Carter taps into his acting experience to become a real-life detective, partnering with his two best friends, Sam Shaw (Sydney Poitier Heartsong, Chicago P.D.) and Dave Leigh (Kristian Bruun, Orphan Black).
Also in the deal are The Guardian starring Simon Baker (The Mentalist) and Unforgettable, starring Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace), both coming to Alibi in 2018.
