Upcoming British sci-fi thriller set for UK release
Elli Films, Unfolding Entertainment and Mind Engagement Productions are delighted to announce that their upcoming British sci-fi thriller, Breaking Infinity, is set for a UK release this June. The film will have Q&A screenings in cinemas from June 1st and will be available on digital download from July 3rd.
The film stars Neil Bishop (Beautiful Disaster), Zoe Cunningham (The Look of Love), Martin Bishop (Wonder Woman), Zed Josef (King of Crime) and Jonny Phillips (Titanic, The Death of Stalin), with director Marianna Dean making her feature-length directorial debut.
Breaking Infinity is a time-bending thriller about Liam, a research scientist who has become unstuck in time. The only people Liam can count on for help are the doctor treating him, Emma, who’s convinced he’s suffering from delusions, and his lab assistant Garret.
As Liam’s episodes become more intense, and his jumps through time more extreme, Liam travels from the distant past where he’s guided by a mysterious Old Man, to the future where he witnesses the end of the world – an apocalypse he may have caused.
This is the second time that director Marianna Dean and actor/producer Zoe Cunningham have collaborated, with their short film Symptoms (2016) having been ‘Officially Selected’ at nineteen domestic & international festivals, winning seven awards.
After reading 130 scripts for their new project, they joined forces with writer David Trotti and producer Paul Desira for Breaking Infinity. “It was fast paced and engaging right from the start and I just couldn’t put it down” director Marianna Dean explains. “We both loved it but we knew it would be an ambitious project to pull off on the limited budget we had.”
The film recently gained plaudits at the Boston Science Fiction Film Festival, where it won Best First Time Director (Marianna Dean) and was nominated for Best Actor (Neil Bishop) and Best Editing (Stephen Headley).
Talking about the film’s release, Dean said; “We’re thrilled that audiences will get the opportunity to see Breaking Infinity on the big screen where it belongs! We’ve already had a terrific response to the film from preview screenings and we can’t wait for the rest of the UK to see it!.”
