BLUE THERAPY LAUNCHES TODAY ON NETFLIX
New reality series BLUE THERAPY premieres globally today on Netflix. The eight-part reality series invite viewers to take a seat on the sofa in the therapy room to witness couples navigating intensive and intimate therapy in real time.
In a hyper-connected world where expectations of love continue to shift, BLUE THERAPY confronts the daunting reality of what happens when love alone is no longer enough?
Based on the smash-hit Black British relationship YouTube series, BLUE THERAPY follows seven real-life couples who commit to intensive therapy as a final attempt to save their relationships. Under the guidance of seasoned couples’ therapist, Karen Doherty, each relationship goes under the microscope, forcing partners to confront deep-rooted fears and life-altering secrets that refuse to stay buried. But facing challenges doesn’t end in the therapy room as friends and family are invited to weigh in, offering advice, opinions, and emotional support.
Turning private conflict into open, honest, and unfiltered conversations, therapy lays the foundation for accountability, growth and, ultimately, healing. As the sessions reach their emotional peak, each couple faces the same life-altering decision: fight for growth…or walk away for good.
MEET THE COUPLES:
Daisy & Jay
Young parents with a one-year-old daughter, Daisy and Jay have been together on and off for three years. Trust and resentment dominate their relationship, with Daisy feeling unsupported during her pregnancy and overwhelmed by parenting responsibilities. Jay wants Daisy to let go of the past – and control her temper.
Debbie & Kelvin
Together for five years, Debbie feels sidelined by Kelvin’s restaurant business, which consumes all of his time. While Kelvin believes there’s no real issue, Debbie is tired of expensive gifts replacing quality time – and wants to feel like a priority again.
Maria & Viktor
Social media influencers together for seven years, Maria and Viktor are divided over marriage. Maria wants to take the next step; Viktor rejects the concept entirely, refusing to change his beliefs for her. Cultural tensions add further strain, particularly around traditions involving Maria’s parents, which Viktor refuses to participate in for several reasons including what he perceives as their lack of respect for him.
Mike & Yas
Engaged with one child, Mike and Yas have a strong relationship – except when it comes to money. Mike’s out-of-control spending worries Yas, who fears for their family’s financial future.
Dami & Jermaine
After more than 12 years together and two children, intimacy and balance are breaking down. Dami, once career-driven, is now a stay-at-home mum, while Jermaine runs a demanding business. They’re sleeping in separate bedrooms – and both feel unheard.
Junior & Carmen
Childhood sweethearts of 20 years with three children, Junior and Carmen’s constant arguing threatens everything they’ve built. With a past separation still haunting them, communication issues push the relationship to breaking point once again.
Mons & Shay
Together for over two years, Mons brings Shay to therapy to confront repeated infidelity and nights of unexplained disappearances. Shay believes Mons relies too heavily on the relationship, while Mons is left alone, anxious and fearing the worst.
MEET THE THERAPIST
Karen Doherty
At the heart of BLUE THERAPY is Karen Doherty, a couple’s therapist with decades of experience helping couples navigate love, conflict, and emotional truth.
Karen invites each couple into her therapy space with one rule: honesty comes first. Calm, compassionate and unafraid to challenge unhealthy patterns, Karen is the steady presence at the centre of BLUE THERAPY as she guides the couples through emotionally intense conversations, unpacking years of resentment, unspoken hurt and unresolved trauma. Karen’s insight guides the couples and offers meaningful takeaways for viewers at home, grounding the series in authenticity, reflection, and real emotional impact.
Karen Doherty said: “Every relationship has its own private story of love, hope, disappointment, and fear. So many people want to feel understood and yet struggle to tell those closest to them what they really mean. Blue Therapy invites viewers into the vulnerability of the therapist’s room. This is not about quick fixes – accountability, honest conversations and confronting repeating dynamics is the key to transition. Change is not neat. It is messy and uncomfortable. My work is to create a space where couples can safely confront their pain, rebuild trust and decide whether they can do the work to fight for something better. When they choose to stay is when something powerful and very real begins.”
Creator and Showrunner Andy Amadi said: “We’re used to seeing relationships on screen as entertainment – dramatic, messy, sometimes toxic. But we rarely see what repair looks like. BLUE THERAPY flips that and sits in that uncomfortable space between conflict and change. The drama comes from truth, and from the very real question of whether people are willing to grow. It was important for us to centre Black British couples in a way that feels layered and human. Too often those stories are simplified or stereotyped. This series shows love in conflict, but also in vulnerability, accountability, and healing. That balance matters.”
Produced by Osun Group, BLUE THERAPY is Executive Produced by Luti Fagbenle and Anna Edwinson. Andy Amadi serves as Creator and Showrunner, with Vanessa Van-Yeboah as Series Producer.
Love is tested. Truths are exposed. Nothing stays hidden.
BLUE THERAPY premieres on Netflix from today Wednesday 4th March 2026.
