Francis Lee’s Ammonite to close LFF 2020

Buzz, Film, TV

The 64th BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express is thrilled to announce that this year’s Closing Film will be Ammonite, directed by Francis Lee (God’s Own Country), starring Oscar®-winning actor Kate Winslet and three-time nominee Saoirse Ronan.

Both a heartfelt love-story and an examination of gender, class and society, Ammonite brings to life in vivid detail the life of a woman unappreciated in her own time.

The film will receive its UK premiere on Saturday 17 October and will be available to UK audiences at cinemas across UK, who will also enjoy a virtual introduction from Lee and key cast.

Ammonite was written and directed by Francis Lee and produced by Iain Canning, Emilie Sherman and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly with Executive Producers Simon Gillis, Mary Burke, Rose Garnett and Zygi Kamasa.
