Launch of the British Film Designers Guild Production Design Awards 2019

The BFDG Production Designer Awards are an annual event and the highlight in the calendar of the British Film Designers Guild. The awards are an opportunity for BFDG members, sponsors and associates to come together to celebrate excellence in the Art Department for Film and Television productions aired in 2019.  For the second year running the awards will take place in central London, and they are thrilled to be welcoming back Mark Kermode as their host for the evening.

The BFDG awards was set up to recognise and to highlight the skills and creative importance of the work undertaken by the British Production Designers, Set Decorators, Art Directors and their associated departments and crews. These talented individuals work behind the scenes bringing the Directors vision to life and in turn allowing the viewer to travel on a totally immersive journey through wildly imaginative environments and historical themes.

Here is the list of entries which will be voted on by the BFDG members, when the vote is opened during the first week on November. To qualify to enter the BFDG Production Design Awards a production must have had a theatrical screening between 1 January and 30th November 2019 and at least one of the Heads of Department PD (Production Designer), SAD (Supervising Art Director) or SD (Set Decorator) must be a member of the BFDG. Entries for Spotlighting New Talent and Lifetime Achievement are accepted from throughout the industry.
