Public VS Critics: Which films did the critics snub but the public love?
Ever wondered if the critics really know what they’re talking about? Well, OLBG has conducted a study to compare the critic’s film ratings against the public’s to see who really knows the most about films.
The public’s film ratings rarely align with the critic’s film ratings. Of the 91 Oscars Ceremonies that have taken place, the critics & the public only agreed 49 times (54%). This begs the question, who is right?
Being that the critics are professionals with years of experience under their belt, the obvious answer would be the critics. But what if I were to tell you that the critics only got it right on average 32% of the time, agreeing with the Academy a mere 29 times.
OLBG have conducted this study for you to come up with your own conclusion, below is a table of which Oscar nominated films the critics loved, which ones the public loved and which ones they heavily disagreed on.
