RAKUTEN TV LAUNCHES NEW ORIGINAL: ‘TRANSVULCANIA: THE PEOPLE’S RUN’

Rakuten TV, one of Europe’s leading streaming platforms, is set to premiere new Rakuten TV Original Transvulcania: The People’s Race, a new feature documentary, on November 12.
Viewers will be able to tune into the exciting documentary about one of the world’s most iconic trail running events for free and exclusively on the platform, without a subscription.

Transvulcania is one of the toughest mountain-ultramarathons in the world. The unique running path attracts top athletes and enthusiasts from around the globe to the island of La Palma, to showcase their endurance and resilience. Since its first edition in 2009, Transvulcania has served as a stage for extraordinary feats in trail running. However, beyond the competitions, what truly distinguishes this race is the unique bond between the athletes and the community. Through intimate testimonies and panoramic views, the documentary highlights the resilience, passion, and indomitable spirit of the island. It not only celebrates the tradition of trail running but also pays tribute to humanity’s ability to overcome challenges, reminding us that even in the toughest moments, community and passion can drive people to achieve the unimaginable.

The documentary features leading athletes from around the world, including Brit Jon Albon – the winner of the 2024 Ultramarathon edition, iconic runner and cyclist Kilian Jornet and 2024 champion Ruth Croft.

Transvulcania: The People’s Race is part of Rakuten TV’s Originals Collection, which also includes We All Play, Break Point: A Davis Cup Story, Andres Iniesta: The Unexpected Hero, Sadio Mane: Made In Senegal, which are all available to watch for free and without subscription on the platform.
