Rakuten TV, previously known as mainly a Transactional VOD store, has since 2019 entered the AVOD & FAST business and as a result, has provided users different options of access to entertainment on TVOD, AVOD, FAST or SVOD. With the launch of 91 Linear channels on Plex, the company takes a further step to expand the reach of both users and advertisers, tapping into more households across Europe with a wider distribution.

Available on almost any device, Plex is the first and only streaming platform to offer free ad-supported movies, shows, and live TV together with the ability to easily search—and save—any title ever made, no matter where it lives. Solving the streaming struggle, Plex provides a more personalized and intuitive experience in one easy-to-use app. With the addition of Rakuten TV channels, Plex will expand on its already robust content catalogue, providing an even stronger entertainment offer.
