THE KRAYS DEAD MAN WALKING is a winner for Hereford Films

Buzz, Film, Reviews

Jonathan Sothcott’s London-based independent production company Hereford Films is celebrating this week after their new film THE KRAYS – DEAD MAN WALKING enjoyed the biggest first week of any non-theatrical UK film on DVD.

Following a glitzy premiere at the Genesis cinema in the heart of London’s East End, the film was rolled out on DVD by indie distributor 4Digital Media through Sony, receiving full retail support from all 4 major supermarkets. It reached number 8 in the national charts, ahead of Black Panther and Ready Player One and was of course the number 1 direct to DVD title that week.

Hereford CEO Sothcott commented “we are delighted with the result on the Krays movie – it just goes to show that well-produced, commercial genre movies still pack a punch on the DVD shelves. I worked hard to bring all of the key elements together and the chart success speaks for itself.I have now committed Hereford to a programme of crime and gangster movies for the domestic market which will include gangland home invasion movie Reckoning Day, The Krays – Marked For Death and We Still Die The Old Way. I want audiences to know that the Hereford brand marks a genre film as a proper, quality movie with stellar casts, made for people who love the genre, by people who love the genre. A British Blumhouse for geezer movies.”

The Krays – Dead Man Walking is on DVD and Digital now.
