The Streets’ Mike Skinner announces exclusive tour of his debut feature film with Everyman cinemas

Buzz, Film

This autumn, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Mike Skinner will exclusively tour Everyman cinemas nationwide for the release of his visionary, debut feature film, The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light. The Streets, Skinner’s musical project, which examines life’s nuances to turn the mundane into the extraordinary, has also announced its first full length album since 2011, which bears the same name as the film and is intrinsic to its development by providing the soundtrack to the story. Each screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Mike Skinner hosted at each participating Everyman venue, providing an insight into his remarkable mind and the music and story behind the film. The tour will commence on Tuesday 19 September 2023 at Everyman Plymouth, before heading to thirteen different Everyman venues across the UK.

The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light has been entirely crafted by Mike Skinner, who wrote, directed, filmed, edited, scored, and created his own special effects for the film. Skinner has carried his vision along with it, exploring different types of nightclubs and the mundane life of a DJ to create a tripped-out noir murder mystery. This tour will provide guests with the opportunity to hear from Skinner himself, as he explores and shares his journey behind the groundbreaking soundtrack, and how he breathed an entire film into it. Whilst neither the album or the film exist without each other – both can be enjoyed separately.

Attendees will also benefit from Everyman’s redefined cinema experience, with food and drink from its extensive menu available to be ordered directly to your seat throughout each screening. Circling through UK cities such as London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Bristol, Mike Skinner’s exclusive tour promises to be a truly unique cinematic experience.

Tickets for the full tour are now available to purchase online with prices from £20 at, where you’ll also be able to pre-order The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light album by The Streets.
