UK Filmmaking Duo Rewriting the Rules for Indie Film on New Project
Brandon and Cameron Ashplant are rapidly establishing themselves as one of the UK film industry’s most compelling, powerhouse duos with their upcoming WWII drama, I’ll Get By. The film is set one month after the events of D-Day and follows the U.S. Army Aircrew of a downed B-17 who parachute out of their burning aircraft into German-occupied France. The production is greenlit, with principal photography largely taking place on the island of Guernsey at some of the many German WWII military sites that scar the landscape. Key aircraft scenes (cockpit and fuselage) will be shot at RAF Thorpe Abbotts in the UK. We are gearing up to shoot in mid-September this year.
Operating through their production banner, Golden Goat Films, they have already secured major international distribution, BIFA-qualifying festival runs, and an elite network of on-screen collaborators. The Guernsey-born brothers are scaling global entertainment through independent filmmaking and high-profile screen collaborations, blending world-class storytelling with a fierce commitment to cultivating local industry.
Beyond their creative slate, the brothers are building an entire filming infrastructure. They serve at the helm of the Institute of Screen Arts Guernsey (ISAG), backed by the local government to establish their home island as an international location hub. By building Golden Goat Films and leading ISAG, they’re not only creating world-class cinema but also fostering the next generation of talent and putting Guernsey on the map as a must-visit location for international productions.
